OTTAWA, Dec 3 (Reuters) - The economic impact of the second wave of COVID-19 in Canada has been deeper than expected and the government must be agile to ensure it can respond to gaps in supports should any emerge, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Thursday.
"I am hopeful that we now have the social safety net ... But I believe you have to be flexible," she said. to get through to the end of COVID. "If we find that there are some gaps, obviously we will be agile and look to fill those gaps."
After talks between British Brexit minister David Frost and the EU Commission's Maros Sefcovic, a British government spokesperson said triggering emergency unilateral provisions in the Brexit deal was still a legitimate option.
'I know that there were a number of young people and residents inside the address before the fire happened and our enquiries are ongoing to identify everyone who was there, not least of all to ensure that everyone is okay.
